Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.33%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.33%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 2.47% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.91 at the close. Meanwhile, HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) added 2.37% or 0.17 points to end at 7.35 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) was up 1.82% or 0.05 points to 2.52 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr), which fell 2.26% or 0.50 points to trade at 21.60 at the close. Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr) declined 1.94% or 0.04 points to end at 2.02 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) was down 1.89% or 0.16 points to 8.30.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 57 and 20 ended unchanged.

Shares in Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.82% or 0.05 to 2.52.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.08% or 2.19 to $2,673.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.15% or 0.82 to hit $70.47 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.37 to trade at $74.12 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.49% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 106.56.
