Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 1.79%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Semiconductor, Machinery and Electronic Parts/Components sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 1.79%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Meanwhile, EZconn Corp (TW:6442) added 9.97% or 36.00 points to end at 397.00 and Epileds Technologies Inc (TW:4956) was up 9.96% or 2.65 points to 29.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kaori Heat Treatment Co Ltd (TW:8996), which fell 9.99% or 39.00 points to trade at 351.50 at the close. Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) declined 9.85% or 0.39 points to end at 3.57 and Formosa Oilseed Processing Co Ltd (TW:1225) was down 5.73% or 7.50 points to 123.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) rose to 3-years highs; up 350.24% or 7.39 to 9.50.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.66% or 1.28 to $75.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.59% or 1.29 to hit $79.64 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 1.60 to trade at $2,664.40 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.06% to 32.20, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.55% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.18.
