Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.19%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3), which rose 8.54% or 0.80 points to trade at 10.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:RENT3) added 3.46% or 1.40 points to end at 41.90 and Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) was up 3.41% or 0.23 points to 6.97 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3), which fell 4.82% or 0.32 points to trade at 6.34 at the close. Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) declined 3.36% or 0.29 points to end at 8.35 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) was down 2.25% or 0.13 points to 5.64.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 525 to 390 and 80 ended unchanged.

Shares in Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) fell to all time lows; down 3.36% or 0.29 to 8.35. Shares in Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) fell to all time lows; losing 2.25% or 0.13 to 5.64.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 3.59% to 29.99 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 8.10 to $2,671.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.28% or 0.94 to hit $74.65 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.15% or 2.90 to trade at $254.95 .

USD/BRL was down 0.31% to 5.46, while EUR/BRL fell 0.82% to 5.99.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 102.23.
