China targets consensus with EU on EV tariff dispute through flexible pricing solutions

BEIJING (Reuters) – The Chinese commerce ministry said on Thursday that technical teams from China and the European Commission are actively negotiating a flexible price commitment solution over the electric vehicle tariff dispute.

Both sides are working towards reaching a consensus before arbitration, the ministry’s spokesperson said during a regular news conference.

Spokesperson He Yongqian reiterated China’s “strong commitment” to dialogue and negotiations to effectively resolve differences, as well as its determination to protect the legitimate interests of Chinese enterprises.
