Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 1.22%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 1.22%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 8.64% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.46 at the close. Meanwhile, Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 4.65% or 0.14 points to end at 3.15 and National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) was up 4.46% or 0.32 points to 7.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which fell 2.55% or 0.34 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 1.31% or 0.13 points to end at 9.77 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was down 0.93% or 0.05 points to 5.31.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 75 to 39 and 27 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.37% or 9.75 to $2,655.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $71.10 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.11 to trade at $73.80 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 100.54.
