Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.27%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF:YDUQ3), which rose 8.03% or 0.78 points to trade at 10.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF:COGN3) added 6.72% or 0.09 points to end at 1.43 and Atacadao SA (BVMF:CRFB3) was up 6.19% or 0.56 points to 9.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3), which fell 4.61% or 2.22 points to trade at 45.98 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) declined 2.68% or 0.66 points to end at 23.97 and Caixa Seguridade Participacoes SA (BVMF:CXSE3) was down 2.58% or 0.40 points to 15.12.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 470 to 464 and 63 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.67% to 27.11.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.05% or 1.20 to $2,541.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 2.33% or 1.53 to hit $67.28 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.06% or 0.15 to trade at $247.05 .

USD/BRL was unchanged 0.00% to 5.66, while EUR/BRL fell 0.17% to 6.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 101.69.
