Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 1.39%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Consumption sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.39%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were CSN Mineracao SA (BVMF:CMIN3), which rose 4.22% or 0.25 points to trade at 6.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5) added 3.00% or 0.55 points to end at 18.90 and Companhia Siderurgica Nacional (BVMF:CSNA3) was up 0.61% or 0.07 points to 11.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which fell 6.33% or 0.30 points to trade at 4.44 at the close. 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:RRRP3) declined 5.57% or 1.35 points to end at 22.87 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF:PCAR3) was down 4.69% or 0.15 points to 3.05.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 636 to 316 and 60 ended unchanged.

Shares in 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:RRRP3) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.57% or 1.35 to 22.87.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.91% to 26.14.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.72% or 18.40 to $2,524.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.55% or 1.07 to hit $68.08 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 3.41% or 8.32 to trade at $235.88 .

USD/BRL was up 0.43% to 5.60, while EUR/BRL rose 0.17% to 6.20.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.15.
