Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.53%
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.53% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr), which rose 4.83% or 0.70 points to trade at 15.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) added 4.76% or 0.05 points to end at 1.10 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) was up 3.63% or 0.15 points to 4.14 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr), which fell 1.44% or 0.45 points to trade at 30.75 at the close. BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr) declined 1.42% or 0.03 points to end at 2.09 and Metlen Energy & Metals AE (AT:MYTr) was down 1.40% or 0.44 points to 31.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 42 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.83% or 0.70 to 15.20. Shares in Alumil (AT:ALMr) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.63% or 0.15 to 4.14.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.38% or 10.04 to $2,677.94 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $69.86 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $73.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.22% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 106.17.
