Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.73%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.73%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which rose 2.59% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) added 2.03% or 0.55 points to end at 27.65 and Premia AE (AT:PREMr) was up 1.29% or 0.02 points to 1.26 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr), which fell 3.98% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.40 at the close. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 3.03% or 0.40 points to end at 12.80 and Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) was down 2.58% or 0.90 points to 34.05.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 42 and 22 ended unchanged.

Shares in Premia AE (AT:PREMr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.29% or 0.02 to 1.26.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 2.20 to $2,671.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.81% or 2.67 to hit $72.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.42% or 2.53 to trade at $76.43 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 0.99% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 101.79.
