Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Capital Goods and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 1.48% to hit a new all time high, while the BSE Sensex 30 index gained 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:MAHM), which rose 5.48% or 153.35 points to trade at 2,950.85 at the close. Meanwhile, ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:ICBK) added 3.60% or 46.45 points to end at 1,338.45 and JSW Steel Ltd (NS:JSTL) was up 3.50% or 33.15 points to 981.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:GRAS), which fell 2.22% or 60.70 points to trade at 2,678.25 at the close. State Bank Of India (NS:SBI) declined 1.04% or 8.25 points to end at 781.70 and IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:INBK) was down 0.31% or 4.55 points to 1,480.20.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:MAHM) which rose 5.37% to 2,946.60, ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) which was up 4.47% to settle at 1,349.25 and JSW Steel Ltd (BO:JSTL) which gained 3.85% to close at 983.65.
The worst performers were State Bank Of India (BO:SBI) which was down 0.70% to 784.85 in late trade, Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:BJFN) which lost 0.18% to settle at 7,574.35 and NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) which was unchanged 0.00% to 424.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1614 to 868 and 79 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2318 rose and 1455 declined, while 106 ended unchanged.

Shares in ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:ICBK) rose to all time highs; up 4.47% or 57.70 to 1,349.25. Shares in JSW Steel Ltd (BO:JSTL) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.85% or 36.50 to 983.65. Shares in NTPC Ltd (BO:NTPC) unchanged to all time highs; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 424.00.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 2.25% to 12.75.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.72% or 18.85 to $2,633.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.53% or 0.38 to hit $70.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.39 to trade at $74.49 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.09% to 83.54, while EUR/INR fell 0.11% to 93.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 100.52.
