U.K. stocks lower at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 down 0.83%
Investing.com – U.K. stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Industrial Metals & Mining and Oil & Gas Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which rose 2.74% or 13.00 points to trade at 488.00 at the close. Meanwhile, B&M European Value Retail SA (LON:BMEB) added 2.19% or 9.60 points to end at 447.10 and Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR) was up 1.72% or 8.00 points to 472.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV), which fell 6.78% or 48.00 points to trade at 660.00 at the close. Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) declined 5.63% or 30.50 points to end at 511.50 and Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) was down 4.81% or 106.50 points to 2,108.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1216 to 578 and 677 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.36% or 9.05 to $2,518.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.77% or 2.77 to hit $70.78 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 4.39% or 3.40 to trade at $74.12 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.74.
