Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.81%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumption and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.81%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3), which rose 2.40% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.80 at the close. Meanwhile, 3R Petroleum Oleo E Gas Sa (BVMF:RRRP3) added 1.97% or 0.52 points to end at 26.89 and IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF:IRBR3) was up 1.94% or 0.94 points to 49.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4), which fell 18.18% or 0.98 points to trade at 4.41 at the close. BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) declined 6.02% or 1.58 points to end at 24.65 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3) was down 4.26% or 0.62 points to 13.94.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 471 to 408 and 48 ended unchanged.

Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF:AZUL4) fell to all time lows; falling 18.18% or 0.98 to 4.41.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.67% to 26.45.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.16% or 4.10 to $2,531.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.67% or 0.49 to hit $74.04 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 1.43% or 3.55 to trade at $244.05 .

USD/BRL was up 0.09% to 5.62, while EUR/BRL fell 0.31% to 6.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 101.58.
